This is one of a series of deconstructed bird paintings I began in 2023 and continue to work on. I'm fascinated by birds and everything that can fly. I have simplified the shapes of the birds and focused on colour; the hot sun hues have a strong emotional resonance. I love watching birds as they pass by on their mysterious journeys. In this painting the bird is an allegory for anyone on a journey through life, sometimes alone and enduring hardships, but determinedly moving onwards. I hope viewers will get the feeling of heat and the epic journeys we all make in our lives.
